I still get excited every time I turn my camera around and watch someone see themselves the way I saw them.

Sometimes it's a mom wiping away a tear after seeing her family together. Sometimes it's a senior who suddenly realizes just how confident they've become. Sometimes it's a grandparent quietly smiling because they know how quickly these seasons of life pass.

Those are the moments that remind me why I picked up a camera more than twenty years ago.

Photography has never been about creating perfect pictures for me. It's about preserving the moments you'll never get back—the laughter, the chaos, the milestones, and the quiet little in-between moments that often become the ones we treasure most.

These days you’ll usually find me photographing seniors, families, newborns, businesses, and real estate throughout Iowa. Every once in a while, I still photograph a wedding, and I'm grateful to be part of such an important day. But if I'm being completely honest, my heart has always belonged to the everyday stories. The ones that happen in backyards, living rooms, hospital rooms, front porches, and golden fields at sunset.

Because those moments deserve to be remembered just as much.

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm usually creating something. You might find me tending my garden, making herbal products in my studio, rearranging furniture because I have another photo idea, or chasing after whatever creative project has captured my attention that week. I guess I've never been very good at sitting still.

When you book a session with me, I don't expect perfection.

Kids will get dirty.

Someone will blink.

Your toddler might refuse to smile.

The wind will probably have its own opinion.

We'll laugh more than once.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, we'll create photographs that feel like you.

Because years from now, I don't want you to look at your photographs and simply remember what everyone looked like.

I want you to remember exactly how it felt.
